Core Team

Jon Fox

Jon is an entrepreneur, founder, and executive-level manager with over 30+ years of interactive multimedia development, live event production, and experiential marketing programs for Fortune 500 companies around the world. He has managed companies from start-up through merger and acquisition with two successful exits. He produced the first UN webcast, the first Burning Man webcast, the Digital Art Be-In, and a peace conference featuring Eli Weisel, Jimmy Carter, Simon Peres, and Nelson Mandela. He also helped NASA broadcast the Mars Pathfinder landing. 

Michael Nash

Michael is the founder and executive director of Roots & Branches Conservancy and serves as executive producer and artistic director for its flagship event, Sound Summit, an annual music festival staged high atop Mount Tam. He has worked for decades across Bay Area arts and culture as a music journalist, record producer, artist manager, creative writer, talent buyer, and industry consultant. Michael is also playwright, lyricist, and project manager for a Broadway-scale stage musical he co-authored with Bob Weir, Taj Mahal, and David Murray.

Brett Terpeluk

Brett founded Studio Terpeluk in 2008 after a decade long collaboration with Pritzker Prize winning architect Renzo Piano. Brett played a pivotal role in the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, the largest LEED Platinum museum in the world, where he served as project architect.. Brett is involved in several non -profits and was past board president of the AIA San Francisco’s Center for Architecture and Design. Brett is a licensed California architect and LEED accredited professional.

Dan Foldes

Dan is a San Francisco-based audio engineer, filmmaker, and deeply engaged citizen with 20+ years experience in event, concert, and film production - from touring internationally with Grammy- winning artists to being at the controls of countless important live events. A long time Upper - Haight/Cole Valley resident, he founded the backyard community concert series Echoes in the Valley in 2022, and is widely connected across the Bay Area’s music, arts, and non - profit communities.

Julie Phelps

For over 15 years, Julie served as Artistic & Executive Director of the interdisciplinary arts space CounterPulse in San Francisco. She combined grassroots community engagement and institutional frameworks to create a dynamic home for arts and culture. In 2023, Julie raised $7 million to renovate and acquire CounterPulse’s building. The new facility has been acclaimed by the press and featured in architectural reviews, receiving the 2017 Inspiration Award from CONTRACT magazine.

Jesse Elliott

Jesse is a Creative Strategist with Chicago-based impact studio Good Chaos, the William & Flora Hewlett Foundation, and the Aspen Institute, He was the founding Executive Director of The Music District in Fort Collins, Colorado, transforming a city block of historic buildings into a community hub for musicians. He also co-founded CACHE in Arkansas, and the national hip-hop incubator Groundwaves, now in its 14th season across 4 states. Along those paths he’s gained extensive experience in foundational support and philanthropy.

Bill Blake

Bill guides strategic and business planning, facility feasibility studies, and policy development processes for AMS Planning and Research. His years of experience leading and managing arts organizations and a pragmatic approach to planning helps him implement strategies quickly and effectively. As the Managing Director of theB Street Theatre in Sacramento, Bill led the planning, fundraising, design and development of its new $28 million mixed-use performing arts complex, The Sofia Tsakopoulos Center for the Arts.

Kevin Kopjak

Kevin is the founder and principal of Prismatic Communications, a firm that has successfully designed and executed high-impact marketing and public relations campaigns for some of the Bay Area's most respected cultural institutions and organizations, including Berkeley Repertory Theatre, American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.), SFJAZZ, ATG San Francisco (formerly BroadwaySF), Center REP, Club Fugazi, and numerous other nonprofit and commercial arts organizations.

Tim Lynch

Tim leads overall station operations for KALX, overseeing both staff and volunteers to ensure high-quality broadcasting and training. Maintaining compliance with FCC regulations and University policies, he also manages budget allocation, financial planning, and fundraising initiatives to support station growth. He is also emcee at local music festivals like Hardly Strictly Bluegrass and High Sierra and hosts the ‘Dead to the World’ show on KPFA Community Radio.

Kitty Veith

Kitty’s multifaceted training as architect, historian, and conservator provides the foundation for her comprehensive approach to preservation projects. Drawing on her broad-based expertise, Kitty’s integrated perspective aligns historic research and documentation with design and technical solutions in service of completing exemplary building restorations and rehabilitations. Kitty is fascinated by how cultures express themselves though the spaces they make and has studied social aspects of architecture around the world.

Bella Wu

Bella is a Designer with Studio Terpeluk who holds a Master of Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design and a dual degree in Communications and Architectural Studies from Boston University, and is a registered architect in Illinois. She has worked at Neri&Hu in Shanghai, ZAO/standardarchitecture in Beijing, and HOK in Chicago. Her installations in Studio An-An have been exhibited at the Seoul Center of Architecture and Urbanism (2019), the Tallinn Architecture Biennale (2024), and Concéntrico × Romanian Design Week (2025).

Rachael Dippel

Rachael is a Project Lead with Studio Terpeluk who graduated from the University of South Florida with her master’s degree in Architecture. Graduating with high honors, she was awarded the Garcia Award, the advanced design portfolio award, a graduate teaching award, as well as a thesis award for her master’s project. She worked with Morphosis on a number of scaled projects ranging from a schematic design of a house, and a mixed use development of a block that won first place in an international design competition.
